New UPCPHAS started with a bang!

On July 29-30, 2009, the UPCPHAS, in partnership with the UP College of Public Health and SEAMEO-TROPMED, will be holding the Regional Public Health Conference in the Heritage Hotel with the theme: "The Impact of Global Financial Crisis on Health". The conference will explore how the global financial crisis affected health by discussing its effect in the achievement of Millennium Development Goal Commitments, Human Resources for Health and Health Financing. Drawing on the experience of our international and national speakers who are policy-makers, campaigners for change and experts in their own field, it will examine how health can survive the global financial crisis.

All health professionals that are interested can join the conference. Registrations are welcome particularly for participants coming from the international agencies, national government agencies, local government agencies, hospitals, academe, NGOs, and private sector. Conference fee is Php 2,400 inclusive of lunch, snacks, and conference kit. Proceeds of the activity will support the renovation of UP College of Public Health Auditorium and Multi-Purpose Hall, which were gutted by fire in December 2008.
